Biography
1908-1987)
Born in Galicia, Holzman came to Israel with his family from Vienna in 1922 and worked along with his father as a house painter. He first studied art privately in 1926 with Frenel-Frenkel, and after participating in the first large scale exhibition of local artists in 1929, went to Paris for further study. He is celebrated as a great master of water colors which have been shown all over Israel as well as in foreign art capitals. He was the first recipient of the Dizengoff Prize (1937), was awarded the Haifa Prize, and represented Israel at the 1959 Venice Biennalegraphy
